Heavy Equipment Training School Sudbury - The heavy equipment operator courses will help the operator in obtaining the needed knowledge and skills they would need to enter the workforce as an entry level operator. In this twelve week course together with a practicum, you would focus on jobsite basics including: safety, health and environmental training and awareness, machinery operation and maintenance, and use of earth moving methods in hands-on conditions.

This training helps you to operate on selected things of machinery such as a loader, compactor, excavator, dozer and a grader. There are various important skills needed to become a heavy equipment operator: good problem solving skills, excellent oral communication skills, physical strength and stamina, good spatial ability and good vision, the ability to work well with others in a team or alone and good eye-hand coordination along with good manual dexterity.

Technical skills are likewise necessary to operate these machinery. These skills comprise: being able to operate equipment and power tools, general mechanical ability, knowledge of safe working methods, the ability to follow grade plans, technical specifications and read instructions, the ability to make mathematical calculations and basic measurements, and the ability to carry out basic maintenance and mechanical repairs.
